Integrating product data management (PDM) into enterprise resource planning (ERP) is the basic building block for smooth cooperation between departments in the product development process.

The CIDEON VAULT Professional to SAP interface enables an integrated process. Achieve end-to-end data and process chains. The integrative software links Autodesk Vault Professional and SAP ERP/PLM by sharing relevant development documents between the two management systems, documents such as CAD data, parts or SAP materials and bills of materials. SAP PLM functions can be performed directly from Vault Professional without having to exit the application. The Autodesk Vault job server can also be integrated for the highly flexible configuration of manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic systems and/or update procedures.

One example here is the bidirectional checking of CAD or Vault file properties with attributes of SAP documents or material classifications to eliminate duplicate manual input and prevent delays. Information is available to every department involved in product development in real time as well as offline. Errors are prevented due to smart sharing and access to a "single source of truth" that ensures smooth, redundancy-free cooperation between departments, external partners and customers based on identical, consistent information.

- Semi- or fully-automatic linking of Vault Professional material data with SAP material master data by using existing SAP material master data or creating it directly from Vault Professional.
